Hotel is infested with bed bugs and roaches. Horrible experience and Marriott has done nothing for me after filing a report and communicating the issue with customer service. Wanted to give you all a big heads up when you are looking for a hotel in the Houston area!

I booked this hotel based on stars and without looking at the actual reviews. I should have looked at the reviews and pictures. I was in town for a stressful reason so I didn't have the time or energy to complain and really, there wasn't any sense in complaining. This place has been run down for quite some time, and complaining wouldn't have made it better. I figured I would just make do but I also discovered I had only hand towels in my room. I called the front desk and the person who answered had to ask me what room I was in, so obviously, even their phone systems are so outdated that it didn't tell her that information. I waited about twenty minutes and called again. She let me know that they were waiting for the dryer. !!! I used a hand towel because I had to leave. When I returned, no towels had been delivered. I went to the office to get them myself. The phone no longer worked - it only gave a busy signal. The person in the office looked like she was half asleep and sitting on her own phone but she kindly gave me towels. The unit itself was filthy with grime on the doors. The toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. There was peeling paint and damage to walls and furniture. There wasn't hot water. It got just barely warm enough to tolerate. All in all, it's just awful and needs a complete overall. The fact that this is a Marriott property is incredible. Someone needs to do a site visit and then begin the renovation process.

This IS the worst Marriott I've stayed at in my life - I have been to 55 different countries and that says A LOT. This place should be condemned. Raining and water is coming in the doors because they don't have downspouts, The doors do not lock, carpet peeling up no central air in the rooms - rather WINDOW UNITS! Rooms smell like a mens locker room. Everything is dinged, damaged and beaten down. It is February and it is 82 degrees in the room. Seriously a pile of crap hotel - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I got stuck here because it is a Marriott .. Didn't know they went this low..You are insane if you think this hotel deserves more than 2 stars.

This Residence Inn Houston on Westheimer hotel is the absolute worst I have ever stayed in by far. I do plenty of traveling and again, the very worst. I only stayed one night to avoid driving home after a New Years Eve party but in hindsight I think I would've rather driven home. I get there to find two baby roaches in the kitchen, one in the sink and one on the counter. After killing those I stepped on what appeared to be another bug but after further inspection it turned out to be a snuff packet that the previous guest had in their mouth at some time and decided to just spit it out on the floor in the hotel room. And why would I think that the housekeeping staff would have the need to run the vacuum cleaner after a guest checks out? That would be asking too much of the housekeeping crew, right? As I used the bathroom and attempted to use the toilet paper, the entire roll and casing/holder came directly out of the wall! Now, I get home only to discover that I have small insect bites on my ankles and behind my knees. In addition to these horrid issues, I was charged $6.50 for parking! Hell, why not? If I'm going to get screwed, I might as well pay for it, right?

My review centers around the condition of the property, the room, and incomplete remediation by leadership. The staff at the Front Desk, Breakfast Attendants, and Housekeeping Supervisor were all wonderful and deserve a more well maintained property. The condition of the property is dire need of attention and desperate overhaul. In our ADA Mobility Accessible room there were multiple concerns, both in accessibility and general safety. It was impossible to change the thermostat as it was located behind a credenza and TV, where even an able bodied person would have difficulties reaching. Freezer was missing a handle and had no means for my mother to access it due to no place to grasp the door it but the very top. Roll-in shower rod was a residential type tension rod and falling down, only held up by a strand or two of remaining caulk. Dining area table was held up only by the chairs, with the chairs moved it collapsed under it's own, saved only by the wall it was leaning against. Living room drapes inoperable, uses wall mounted remote control that doesn't work, leaving the room almost black out dark even in the day. Exterior door into guest building doesn't lock, it has a room key reader but no need for it. Pedestrian gates to access the gated parking fail to work with the room key, nice finding out in the pouring rain. We were assured that maintenance would address our concerns first thing in the morning, this did not happen even after speaking with the front desk multiple times, maintenance appearing to address more general tasks such as skimming and adding chemicals to the pool, obviously more important tasks than guest concerns, and as such we departed and went to a different Marriott property. Later in the day, following our move to another Marriott property, the AGM reached out and had agreed to refund half of the one night we did stay, and extended 25,000 bonus Bonvoy Rewards as part of their service recovery efforts. Now 10 days since, I finally received the revised bill, after three requests, showing the credit, missing my membership number where both points and the nights stay are missing from my Bonvoy account, creating more effort on my part.
